It s mostly in Japanese, so some of the meaning is lost, but I really just wanted it for the pictures, which did not disappoint Also, the cover is beautiful and gilded Harry Clarke is a great artist, his style is similar to Barbier, Erte, Kay Nielsen, etc., but he seems lesser known, so it s wonderful to have a book of his artwork.

I ve been a fan of Harry Clarke s work since I encountered his Poe illustrations when I was a kid, but had no idea of the breadth and magnificence of his work until I saw this book The reproductions are absolutely stunning this is one of the absolutely best art books I ve ever purchased Hopefully someday the text will be translated into an English edition, but for now I m happy to settle for this Japanese edition.

This is such a fantastic, beautiful collection of Clarke s work The text is in Japanese, so I m only able to read a bit of it, but it s not really necessary to enjoy the book The cover is beautiful as well Hugely recommend to any fan of Clarke s work.

To write in it s description that it has detailed bilingual descriptions of the book is misleading. But Harry Clarke s art is magnificent The book also has embellishments that help the art pop on the pages It is beautiful.
